Hello. CASL (Central Alberta Softball League) is an attempt to create structure in Central Alberta and provide efficiencies for the game scheduling process. It provides the ability to accurately match teams to increase the level of competition and create more equal play. .
Prior to the Central Alberta Scheduling meeting held in Red Deer on April 15 at 6:30 pm (Holiday Inn Gasoline Alley), if your team was declared for CASL, you are presented with a schedule that contains at least 8-10 games depending on the number of teams per division. In some cases, games were designed to accommodate travel distances or the level of competition being requested. At the Central Alberta Scheduling meeting, as managers, you will be expected to work with the opposing teams for each week and their manager to decide on dates, times, and diamonds for your proposed game. You may choose to flex your game schedule based on your local diamond availability, you may choose to run a doubleheader or tri-meet on weekends if that better suits your team's needs. We will also provide a team's contact list so that any additional exhibition games can be built to supplement your spring season.
